CEXN is a label that is reaching beyond fashion to costuming art and that has developed a unique style of divine beauty hand in hand with its disruption.
Using unusual materials crafted into organic structures, CEXN produces eccentric costume pieces, outfits, headpieces and a wide variety of accessories that are handcrafted and (predominantly) one-of-a-kind-pieces.

CEXN was brought to life in 2009 by Bartholomäus Wischnewski after he finished his studies. Before this, he was trained in the craft of costume making. In 2011 CEXN became a duo: Dana Mikelson, dipl.- designer, has always described her costumes as fine art and has tried out all the narrative and staging potential in photography and film.
After years of cooperation CEXN was parting with its designer Dana Mikelson. She left to start her own label. They continue their cooperation on an independant base now.

From the initial conception to the finished product, everything is created in a workshop based in Mainz, Germany.
CEXN´s customers are mostly unique, independent, aesthetics-focused and creative people. Collaboration with various artists from the areas of film, photography, theatre and music means the continuous development of new, creative products and challenges.

CEXN puts a great weight on the representation in media and therefore take great measures to assure the quality and artistic expression. Usually, CEXN develops a staging concept with a photographer – who is always requested to bring in his own personal touch just as the models are encouraged to wear the pieces with their personality.
